Please first check the spam/junk mail folder for the e-mail address you used when making the booking. Depending on your individual security settings, the booking confirmation may in some circumstances have been sent there, so that the confirmation is not visible directly in the inbox.

How do I arrive?

To enter, you scan the QR code on arrival – or, alternatively, if you entered your car registration plate when booking, it will be automatically detected. Providing your number plate is purely optional and is not obligatory.

By QR code: A QR code is issued with your booking confirmation. Scan this code with the scanner in the entry post when you arrive. This will open the barrier. Ideally, allow a distance between the scanner and the QR code of about 5 cm.

By number plate recognition: The number plate of your vehicle is read as you approach the entrance. If you entered your registration plate correctly, the barrier opens automatically without the need to scan the QR code. Note: Entry by number plate recognition will only work if you already provided the registration plate during the booking process.

No, you don’t have to specify your registration plate. Once you have made your booking, you are free to use it for any vehicle. Providing your number plate is entirely optional, not obligatory.

If you would like to make use of the convenience of our number plate recognition system, just enter the registration plate when you book. Afterwards, you can change the number in the booking at any time.

Will I be assigned a parking space number?

With your booking for our car park at Hannover Airport, we guarantee a free space on the booked arrival date. We don’t issue a fixed parking space number. You just park your car in an available space.

What is a QR code?

The QR code is the black-and-white square in your booking confirmation that is itself made up of many tiny black and white squares.

Where do I find the QR code?

The QR code is located in the attachments to your booking confirmation e-mail.

If you wish to use the QR code in printed form on paper, open the PDF file in the attachment to your booking confirmation e-mail. The QR code will appear at the top right.

If you wish to use the QR code in digital form on your smartphone, first open the booking confirmation on the phone. Next, tap on the pkpass file in the attachment to the booking confirmation to open the digital QR code. A blue card is displayed with the QR code at the centre.

QR code missing from booking confirmation

The QR code required for you to park is provided in two different formats in the attachment to the booking confirmation e-mail that you will have received from us after making your booking on our website. The ‘pkpass’ attachment to the booking confirmation is a special file format that can only be opened on a smartphone. If you wish to print the QR code and use it in paper form, just open the PDF file attached to the booking confirmation e-mail. This contains the QR code at top right.

Do I need to print out the QR code?

The QR code can either be printed out on paper or used digitally on your smartphone with the wallet app.

If you wish to use the QR code on your smartphone, do not open the PDF file on your phone to scan the code at the entry point. If you use this version, the movement and turning of your smartphone in your hand will cause the QR code to be incorrectly scaled and the scanner will be unable to read it.

Can I use the same QR code for both entering and exiting?

Yes, you use the same QR code for both entering and leaving. There are no separate codes for entry and departure.

If the QR code cannot be read by the system, please press the Help button. This is provided in both the entry and the exit columns and on the pay stations. The help button is marked with a telephone symbol.

When you press this button you will be connected directly to our central control office, staffed 24 hours per day, where help will be given. Alternatively, call the telephone number provided in the booking confirmation.

Cancellation: how do I cancel my booking?

If your tariff allows cancellation, click the Cancel link in your booking confirmation. Your cancellation request is then checked by our services department and you receive a response by e-mail. Please take note of the cancellation conditions of your booking. You can find these in detail at the bottom of your booking confirmation.

Rebooking: how do I change my arrival and/or departure date?

It is not possible to change the arrival or departure date of a booking. Please take note of the rebooking conditions of your booking. You can find these in detail at the bottom of your booking confirmation.

If your existing tariff can be cancelled, start by making a new booking on our website for the new dates. Then cancel the old booking via the Cancel link in the old booking confirmation.

Please note that you can only do this before entering the car park. Once you have entered, the period of booking cannot be changed. Please also see the information in the section ‘Can I park for longer than I have booked for?’

Rebooking: how do I change other booking details?

You can change booking details yourself at any time via the ‘Change’ option in your booking confirmation, with no waiting or processing times. When you click Change, the booking manager opens. Make the changes to the details that you wish and confirm them by clicking Save.

Can I park for longer than I have booked for?

Accepted Answer

You can leave your car for longer than you have booked for. Your car will remain where you left it in our car park. You may not, however, retrospectively change the booking period after you have entered the car park. It is also not permitted to book the additional days to extend an existing booking by means of a separate follow-up booking. If you contravene these rules, no refund will be made and you will additionally have to pay the regular excess charge before departure. Despite the altered return date, in cases of parking for longer than booked, you should simply proceed as described in the booking confirmation.

Can I park at an earlier time than I stated in the booking?

The times you specify in your booking are not binding and we only use them to aid in planning. You can enter the car park any time after 00:01 on your booked arrival date.

Can I leave at a later time than I stated in the booking?

Accepted Answer

The times you specify in your booking are not binding and we only use them to aid in planning. You can leave at any time up to 24:00 on your departure date without incurring extra charges, regardless of the departure time you specified. As a goodwill gesture, in fact you are allowed up until 01:00 at night before costs are incurred. This is intended to keep parking as flexible as possible for users arriving on flights late in the evening.

How do I pay the parking fee?

The parking fee is paid during the booking process. You can choose from the following payment methods: PayPal, Klarna, credit card (Mastercard, VISA), SEPA direct debit (for German bank accounts only), iDeal (for Dutch bank accounts only)

When is the parking fee debited?

Payment details are directly recorded and processed during the booking as per the online payment method used. The parking fee is debited by the legally intermediated payment providers immediately after the booking is completed.

If there are irregularities in your payment, these are automatically detected by our accounts department. You will then receive a letter by post reminding you to make good the failed payment. In this letter we will also charge you a little extra for costs incurred.

Is my car insured while it is parked at the airport?

Generally we are not liable for damages caused during the period of parking in our parking spaces or in our car parks by third parties (such as other users). Our liability is thus limited to damage caused by ourselves or by third parties commissioned by us.

The Budget tariff is the cheapest option for parking with us at Hannover Airport. By opting for the low price of this tariff, however, you sacrifice flexibility. With this tariff you cannot cancel or change your booking.

What is the Smart tariff?

Accepted Answer

Smart has nothing to do with your car or with the automobile brand. You can park any make of car with us using this tariff. What the Smart tariff does offer is an attractive ratio of price to services. Unlike with the Budget tariff, you can cancel a Smart booking free of charge up to 24:00 on the night before your booked arrival date. So if the cancellation is made in time, with the Smart tariff you would receive the full parking charge back as a refund.

For help in finding us, click on the ‘Show directions’ option in the ‘Getting here’ area of your booking confirmation. This opens a free map service on which the destination point of our car park is already indicated. You can use this to have your personal route calculated for you.

You can of course also print your route via this map service. If you are using the map on a smartphone, you can even use it as a navigation aid – including with voice prompts – on your way to us.

How do I get from the car park to Hannover Airport?

Transfer/shuttle bus: Our car park is linked directly to the terminal by our free shuttle bus. The 2.8 km journey takes a little under 5 minutes. The shuttle service is available to our guests with car park bookings 24 hours per day.

From car park to terminal: To arrange your pickup from the car park to the airport, you must register by telephone with the shuttle service 15 minutes before you arrive at the car park. The telephone number is given on the booking confirmation. You will not be picked up if you do not register by telephone.

Return from airport to car park: After passing through baggage reclaim at Hannover Airport, you must register by telephone with the shuttle service for the transfer back to the car park. The telephone number is given on the booking confirmation. You will not be picked up if you do not register by telephone. You will be picked up from the Departures level. Look out for the shuttle bus marked ‘Easy Airport Parking’.
